Summary of career so far 

Dr. Kaoutzani graduated Athens Medical School in 1980. She trained in Internal Medicine for two years and in Gastroenterology for four years and was qualified as Gastroeneterologist both in Greece 1998 and in Cyprus 1990. She worked for seven years (1982-1989) at the Department of Pharmacology Athens Medical School gaining her Ph.D. and actively participating in the research and the writing of multiple theses. In 1990 she joined the Department of Digestive Pathology at Harvard Medical School where for three years she was engaged in the study of the absorptive mechanisms of the small intestine. In 1993 she worked as a registrar B in Gastroenterology at the Polyclinic Hospital of Athens and three years later she worked as registrar A in Gastroenterology at Thriasio General Hospital in Athens.
Since 1999 she has her own practice of Gastroenterology in Nicosia Cyprus.
